Many athletes grew up dreaming of representing their country at the Olympic Games and standing atop the medals podium. For triathletes, that gold medal dream became more of a reality in 2000 when the sport was added to the Olympic program at the Sydney Games. Four years later, the U.S. received its first medal when Susan Williams finished third in Athens, Greece. Now, the triathlon world has turned its attention to Beijing in 2008, where six more U.S. athletes will represent their country on the world stage with a goal of Olympic glory.
These pages will give you the chance to learn more about the Olympic process, the history of the U.S. athletes at the Games, and updated news, results, and profiles for the athletes who are looking to qualify (and have qualified) for the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team.
